We had decided to upgrade the Chevelle chassis but, discovered it was less expensive to buy a finished car. We bought this Fairmont from Tim Ainsley in Chesapeake, Virginia. As the photos show it's a well constructed racer that fits our needs exactly.
It's powered by a very mildly built .030 over 454 Chevrolet big block with iron oval port heads, 10.5-1 compression, Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold, a specially ground Isky solid lifter camshaft, 950 Holley HP carb, and backed up with a Powerglide transmission. It doesn't weigh much so it's fairly quick given that the engine is not radical. Best time posted to date is 9.797 at 135.15 MPH
